Snowshoe softball - Feb 15-16, 2013, Presidents Day weekend, Winthrop. Softball tournament played in the snow with the participants strapped into snowshoes.


Winthrop Balloon Roundup - March 7-9, 2013. Skies of Winthrop and the Methow Valley brighten with the brilliant colors of over a dozen hot air balloons.


Confluence Gallery, April 6 - June 1, 2013, Twisp. “Two Valleys”

The Mazama 5k & 10K Fun Run - May 25, 2013, Mazama. Three race lengths to choose from, 1K, 5K & 10K, a race for every age and ability, there is even an exciting new stroller division.

Methow Valley Rodeo - Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26, 2013. Saddle bronc, bareback, bulls, bareback, barrel racing and team roping.

Trek Demo Days - Memorial Day weekend, Chickadee Trailhead. Demo mountain bikes on the Sun Mountain trails, Friday and Saturday 11-3pm.

National Trails Day - June 1, 2013. Sun Mountain Lodge. Celebrating trails in the Methow Valley, half day and full day guided hikes. Evening entertainment includes Cowboy Dinner and presentation by Don Portman.

Chasing Ice Movie Premiere - June 28, 2013, Winthrop. Shown on the big screen under the stars in Winthrop Town Park at 8:30 pm. Before the film Chasing Ice Team Member, Adam LeWinter presents on the making of the film, the challenges of capturing the images, and our future in the face of global climate change. Telluride MountainFilm On Tour - June 29, 2013, Winthrop. One of America’s longest-running film festivals. Half-day event at the barn and town park featuring a film lineup from the festival and local student films, Films will be shown throughout the afternoon and evening, intermissions will include presentations on the films, artists, related topics, etc., as well as ongoing tents and booths from local businesses and artisans.

Loup Loup Mountain Challenge - June 29-30, 2013. Round 7 & 8 of the Fat Tire Revolution Series, cross country race on Saturday and Lighting Creek Enduro on Sunday.
