General Directions

Leavenworth, Washington

Traveling by car Leavenworth is approximately two and a half hours from Seattle, three hours from Spokane and five hours from Portland, Oregon.

 

From Seattle via Highway 2 "North Cascade Loop Scenic Drive"

From Seattle drive north on I-5 and take Exit 168B (WA-520 E) to Interstate 405 North. Merge onto WA-522 E via Exit 23 towards US-2/Woodinville/Wenatchee. Take Highway 2 towards Wenatchee and go east on Highway 2 for 85 miles over Stevens Pass direct to Leavenworth.

 

From Seattle via Interstate 90

From Seattle take I-5 to I-90. Drive east on I-90 over Snoqualmie Passand past Cle Elum. Take WA-970 N at Exit 85 towards Wenatchee. Follow the signs towards Wenatchee and Highway 2 over Blewett Pass (Hwy 97).  At the Highway 2 junction, turn left towards Leavenworth. Drive 5 miles direct to Leavenworth.

 

From Spokane via Interstate 90

Travel west on Interstate 90 and take Exit 151 toward WA-281 N/Quincy-Wenatchee. Drive north on Highway 281 to Quincy. Turn left on Highway 28 and go west to Wenatchee. Go west on 28 through East Wenatchee until you reach Highway 2. Take Highway 2 towards Seattle. Drive on Hwy 2 from Wenatchee for 22 miles direct to Leavenworth.

 

From Portland, Oregon

Take I-5 north to Seattle. From Seattle take I-5 to I-90. Drive east on I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass and past Cle Elum. Take WA-970 N at Exit 85 towards Wenatchee. Follow the signs towards Wenatchee and Highway 2 over Blewett Pass (Hwy 97).  At the Highway 2 junction, turn left towards Leavenworth. Drive 5 miles direct to Leavenworth.

By Train

Amtrak stops twice daily in Leavenworth at Icicle Station: 6am westbound and 8pm eastbound. You can make reservations on the Amtrak website or by calling them at 1-800-USA-RAIL. Presently you can not buy tickets for the train in town so advance planning is required.

 

Leavenworth Shuttle and Taxi provides transportation to and from Icicle Station. Call 509-548-RIDE.

 

By Plane

Pangborn Memorial Airport

Pangborn Memorial Airport is a small airport that has 3 outbound and 3 inbound flights daily from Seattle serviced by Horizon The airport is in East Wenatchee which is 30 miles East or 35 minutes from Leavenworth. Call 509-884-2494 for reservations.

 

Sea-Tac Airport

Sea-Tac International Airport is located just south of Seattle and is one of the largest on the west coast. The Sea-Tac airport is 135 miles or about 2.5 hours from Leavenworth.

 

By Bus

Northwestern Trailways offers daily bus service to Leavenworth. You can make reservations by calling 1-800-366-3830 or you can buy tickets at the Icicle Kwik Stop (587 Hwy 2) located on the west end of town which is also the bus stop.
